The ss Yongala sank in a cyclone during the final stage of her journey from Melbourne to Cairns on the 23rd of March 1911. Due to its remote location it was not until 1957 that the Yongala was found.
She now lays in 30 meters of tropical water and starts at 14 meters below the surface.
The wreck, still in one piece, is now dense with corals and other reef life - large Rays, Groupers, Sea Snakes, Eels Sharks, making it AUSTRALIA'S BEST DIVE!
